So you want to learn how to list on Craigslist huh? We’ll show ya! It’s extremely simple. Follow these steps!
Here’s a video that takes you step by step. I recommend that you watch the video then read on since the text is much more informative.
When you start Craigslist, you’ll quickly figure out that it’s organized by region and that you should stick with your own geographic region when you post anything for sale. You could add products to a close major city area. That’s fine. As you would imagine, Craigslist gets loads of spam so their filters are really REALLY good. So please, only post in your region.
Go to craigslist.com and select your local region or the desired region within which you want to sell your product. On the top left you’ll see this:
Then, you’ll want to click on “post to classifieds”, which then takes you here:
Click on “for sale”. Now it’s time to pick a specific category:
There are a lot of categories. Pick the one that corresponds to what you’re selling. Take your time and look over at the categories carefully so you post in the right place. Say you have an iPhone. So chose “cell phones”.
Now you’re taken to the classified ad form:
Start filling out the form. Like I did below.
If you want a better chance selling your product, you should always include pictures, even if they’re mediocre pictures.
To add images, click on “Add / Edit Images” on the bottom.
Click on “Choose File” and select each image, then when you’re done, the image filenames will be shown:
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “Continue” to upload the images and jump straight to a preview of the advertisement:
Move down just a bit and you’ll see the images
Next, fill out the captcha:
Hit continue and proceed:
Now you’ll want to check your email and look for an email from Craigslist.
You’ll need to click on the “post.craigslist.org” link, which will prove to the Craigslist that you’ve entered a valid email address.
Click on “publish” to have your classified advertising go live.If you want to change your advert, click on “edit”.
That’s it! That’s all it takes to be a craigslist seller! Yay!
